Personalities und Artists in Residence

The series Personality in Residence brings personalities from business, culture, academia, and politics to SQUARE. They spend several days on site, right in the midst of everyday university life, and engage in dialogue with students, faculty, residents of St.Gallen, and anyone else interested, through a variety of formats.

At the heart of it is exchange: about major societal questions, personal experiences – and about what defines a personality. This opens up new perspectives and reveals previously unknown sides of the guests. A lively format that inspires, encourages reflection, and builds bridges between theory and lived practice.

As part of the Artist in Residence series, SQUARE invites selected artists to share their perspectives. Artists are often ahead of public discourse. They observe, question, and translate societal developments into creative forms of expression – long before topics reach the political or media mainstream. At the same time, they help us place current events in a historical or cultural context.

Through conversations, interventions, and performative formats, they open up new perspectives, invite dialogue, and broaden our view of the world. An invitation to be unsettled, inspired, and prompted to reflect.

In Autumn we're looking forward to:
