Eating and drinking at SQUAREexpand_less

The floors at SQUARE are light-coloured and delicate. Cleaning them is challenging. Food is therefore only permitted on the ground floor (except in the rooms Vadian-Gallus and Rosenberg-Rotmonten). Please do not take coffee into the seminar rooms and consume drinks from sealable containers.

SQUARE is a flexible space. The furniture in the open areas can be used and rearranged as required. The rooms are also available for use, unless otherwise indicated on the display at the entrance. Please leave the seminar rooms in the same condition as you found them.

Please treat the facilities with care and consideration so that future students and guests at SQUARE can continue to enjoy them. Please report any damage or issues to the SQUARE office.

Dogs are welcome in public areas, provided they are kept on a lead. Only therapy animals are permitted in the seminar- and group rooms.

We aim to process all enquiries as quickly as possible and always adapt the rooms and open spaces to suit your needs. The SQUARE team does its very best every day, as do the housekeeping staff and the Migros catering team.

We foster a respectful atmosphere. Mistakes can happen, and we welcome any feedback at intendanz@unisg.ch.

How to find us

Direct train connections to Zurich main station and Zurich airport (1 hour). There are also good connections from Bern (2 hours), Geneva (4 hours) and Munich (3 hours) to St.Gallen. From St.Gallen main station, take bus number 5 in the direction of Rotmonten to the bus stop Universität/Dufourstrasse, or bus number 9 to the bus stop Universität/Gatterstrasse, near the HSG campus and SQUARE.

St.Gallen is well connected and can be reached quickly via the A1. A limited number of paid parking spaces are available on Gatterstrasse (note: CHF 5/hour on weekdays, CHF 1.50/hour on Saturdays and Sundays, payment by credit card only). Other public parking spaces (CHF 1.50/hour, max. parking time: 3 hours) are located on Guisanstrasse, directly in front of the upper entrance to university building 09 (formerly B-building) and further down on Dufourstrasse.

There is a train from Zurich airport to St.Gallen several times an hour (1 hour). Furthermore, there is the small airport St.Gallen-Altenrhein in the immediate vicinity.
