The «Personality in Residence» series brings inspiring figures from business, culture, academia, and politics to SQUARE. They spend several days on-site, immersed in the daily life of the university, engaging in dialogue with students, faculty, local residents of St.Gallen, and all other interested individuals.
At the heart of the series is exchange — about major societal questions, personal experiences, and what it truly means to be a «personality». These encounters open up new perspectives and reveal unexpected sides of the guests. It’s a dynamic format that inspires, provokes thought, and builds bridges between theory and lived practice.
As part of the «Artist in Residence» series, SQUARE invites selected artists to share their perspectives. Artists are often ahead of public discourse: they observe, question, and translate social developments into creative forms of expression — often long before such topics reach political or media mainstreams. At the same time, they help us place current events into historical or cultural contexts.
Through conversations, interventions, and performative formats, they open up new ways of seeing, invite dialogue, and expand our view of the world. An invitation to be challenged, inspired, and encouraged to reflect.
