Human rights are considered universal – and yet they are under pressure worldwide. The new book Menschenrechte – die Schweiz in der Verantwortung asks what this means for Switzerland. Authors from academia and practice show how human rights shape our everyday lives: from global supply chains to the use of algorithms, asylum policy, and the relationship between democracy and international law. The contributions invite readers to question what is often taken for granted and to reflect on a more just society. A book for anyone who wants to understand why human rights are not an abstract idea, but a concrete social responsibility.

With Tarek Naguib (lawyer specializing in human rights and protection against discrimination), Nino Janashvili (social anthropologist with a focus on, among other things, memory culture and post-migrant transformation), and other guests.
