Dialogue has been Wolfgang Schürer’s lifelong mission.
As a student at HSG, he founded the St. Gallen Management Dialogues in 1970 with a small group of fellow students. Their aim was to engage with leaders from business and politics on equal footing, seeking consensus in a polarized time. This intergenerational dialogue remains at the heart of the symposium to this day.
He fostered international scientific dialogue as Chairman of the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings Foundation. For 20 years, Schürer was a member and special envoy of the Hague Academy of International Law. In recent years, he has been dedicated to promoting dialogue between world religions and civil society.
As a fellow student and alumnus, as a guest professor and mentor, Schürer has accompanied generations of students at HSG—encounters that have shaped both sides.
