In recent years the influence of geopolitics on the economy has changed significantly. It has become more volatile and disruptive. Not only large corporations, but also small and medium-sized enterprises in many countries around the world are now feeling the direct or indirect impact of factors such as scarce resources, energy shocks, wars or tariffs on their businesses.
Many companies are currently working flat out to develop their geopolitical ‘muscle’ and strengthen the resilience of their value chains. This involves not only developing new strategies or running through scenarios, but also setting up geopolitical departments to address these issues.
This is why the ‘Center for Geopolitics and Corporate Strategy’ was founded at the University of St.Gallen. Here, professors from the disciplines of International Affairs, International Economics, Law & Taxation, Artificial Intelligence & Cybersecurity, and Strategic Management are working together. This core team is complemented by a circle of further experts.
The kick-off event will take place on September 24 at SQUARE.
