Cinema@SQUARE: Eternal You (2024)

This edition is curated by Jacqueline Gasser-Beck, resident of the St. Gallen City Parliament. On this evening, she invites you to reflect on the documentary film Eternal You (2024).

Plot: On the End of Finiteness examines companies that create digital avatars of the deceased using AI technologies to allow the bereaved to continue communicating. The film raises profound ethical questions: How does our understanding of death, memory, and authenticity change when artificial intelligence accompanies us beyond death?

After the screenings, it will be interactive. Jacqueline Gasser-Beck will discuss Dr. Phil. Marc Keller, how artificial intelligence preserves memories and makes digital life after death possible. But what does it mean for us when technology dissolves the boundaries between life and mortality?
