St.Gallen Strategy Days
26./27. März 2026

by SQUARE x UBS

What strategies can organizations and stakeholders adopt to effectively navigate crisis situations? How can companies respond to developments in their supply chain? How can regions or industries ensure resilience and coordinated responses to international developments?

The St. Gallen Strategy Days, developed by SQUARE in cooperation with UBS, take serious gaming to the next level: in an intensive two day global strategy simulation, over 150 students, professionals and personalities from academia, politics and business immerse themselves in a current comprehensive landscape – interactively, realistically and across generations.

All participants take on roles as representatives of governments, international organisations or global companies. Throughout the simulation, current global challenges such as economic change, sustainability and international cooperation are addressed. Tasks are demanding and negotiations require strategic thinking, teamwork and flexibility. Participants learn to develop solutions together under realistic conditions. Only those who think strategically, collaborate effectively and show leadership will succeed.

Your actions have consequences. Other players will react accordingly. This allows you to learn from direct and real-time feedback. Ergo, this isn‘t just a simulation; it‘s a masterclass in leadership under pressure.

The SQUARE triangle:
Faculty x Students x Business professionals

At the heart of the two-day simulation is an informal learning experience found only at SQUARE: students and leaders from business and politics sit side by side with experts from the University of St.Gallen and other faculties.  Academic perspectives flow into strategic decisions and are immediately put to test. The result is a unique learning space at the hub of science, business and geopolitics, where experienced decision-makers and future leaders act, negotiate and learn from each other.

The SQUARE Experience:

  • Real-time media coverage by in-game journalists

  • AI-powered simulation with interactive technology featuring live maps, intelligence feeds, and seamless AI-human interaction

  • Immersive environment designed for authentic diplomatic interactions

  • Structured debriefings for reflection and learning consolidation

  • Professional networking opportunities throughout both days

Advantages for students:

  • Decision-making under pressure: Strengthen negotiation, leadership and teamwork skills in realistic crisis scenarios

  • Building supportive networks: Connect across disciplines and exchange ideas with personalities from politics, business and academia

  • Thinking globally, learning sustainably: Develop international perspectives and gain knowledge that lasts beyond the event

Added value for professionals:

  • Step outside comfort zone: Refreshing strategic decision-making skills in a realistic scenario, embrace unfamiliar roles and breaking new ground under pressure

  • Experience reversed mentoring: Benefit from exchanges with the next generation, be challenged by their perspectives and reflect on your own way of thinking

  • Network and take a pause for thought: Build cross-industry networks, engage in dialogue with experts from academia and business – a deliberate moment for reflection, vision and depth
