Live Podcast with Jacob Soll: Free Market Myths

12 pm, SQUARE Residency Grid

Until very recently, the belief in the wisdom of markets reigned supreme in the Republican Party of the United States - at least it did dominate its economic policy statements. However, even self-declared libertarian President Ronald Reagan only let the markets reign freely when and where it was in his political interest. So why did free market thinking remain de-facto orthodoxy for such a long time? And why were its myths not busted earlier?

Professor Jacob Soll will address these and other questions in a live podcast recording with St.Gallen Collegium Fellow and bestselling author Dr. Wolfram Eilenberger and Prof. Claudia Brühwiler, host of the University of St.Gallen podcast 'Grüezi Amerika'.
