Temporal fabric provides an intuitive metaphor for the weaving together of work, workers, ideas, and resources in time and over time. It provides a “strong process” ontology for describing the process of organizing. The goal of TFT is to translate this metaphor into a computationally tractable framework, so that strong process theory can inform computational social science, and vice versa. It may be “too philosophical” for some, and “too computational” for others, but the opportunity for synergy seems extremely promising. In this talk, Brian Pentland will preview his ideas about Temporal Fabric Theory (TFT). Intruduction by Prof. Dr. Blagoy Blagoev.
