In Switzerland, on average, a woman is killed every two weeks by her husband, (ex-)partner, or a male relative. More than 50 percent of all homicide victims are female. Compared to other European countries, the proportion of femicides among all homicides is particularly high in Switzerland – a statistic that demands attention.
What causes lead to femicide? What trends and developments can be observed, and what preventive measures are available? These and other questions will be discussed by Prof. Nora Markwalder, Barbara Reifler (Commander of the Cantonal Police of St.Gallen), and Konrad Würgler (Head of Learning Programs, Office for Corrections and Reintegration, Canton of Zurich) during the 5th SQUARE Crime Talk.
The Center for Criminal Law and Criminology invites you to a lively panel discussion followed by an apéro.
Registration until 23 November: strafrecht@unisg.ch
