Booked out: Cinema@SQUARE: Her (2013)

This edition is curated by Jacqueline Gasser-Beck, resident of the St. Gallen City Parliament. On this evening, we invite you to reflect on the remarkable film Her (2013) by Spike Jonze.

Plot: In a not-so-distant future, the lonely writer Theodore (Joaquin Phoenix) purchases a new operating system designed to meet all the needs of the user. To Theodore's surprise, a love relationship gradually develops between him and his operating system.

After the screenings, it will be interactive. Jacqueline Gasser-Beck will discuss with Prof. Dr. Veronica Barassi, whether AI fiction has already become reality, how far we are willing to engage with it, and where we want to consciously set boundaries.
