La Grande Bouffe is a provocative, bitterly angry satire about excess, pleasure and self-destruction. Four wealthy friends retreat to indulge in unrestrained eating, drinking and pleasure – an excessive feast that quickly takes on grotesque proportions. To this day, the film is considered a radical critique of consumerism, the bourgeoisie and social taboos.
Afterwards, we will discuss it with Marquis de Sade expert Michael Pfister. In collaboration with the student association Philosophy Club St.Gallen.
