Sculpture in front of the main entrance

Ourea

Ourea

The sculpture called "Ourea" was created by British artist Sir Tony Cragg. It was donated by alumnus Christen Sveaas. The sculpture is made entirely of bronze and weighs a total of 4.5 tonnes. The sculpture is a personification of the Greek mountain deity "Ourea". On closer inspection of the sculpture, various profiles of human facial features are recognisable. The curved lines are intended to contrast with the hard edges of the SQUARE. Only when viewed from above can it be recognised that the figure does not consist of one whole, but of three interlocking columns.
