The panel will engage with the Earth as experienced in the field, in the context of pluriversal epistemologies. Nitin Bathla will discuss urban-wild enmeshments through the more-than-human ethnography of urban leopards in India. Rony Emmenegger will talk about the political geology of nuclear waste disposal and reflect on how the subterranean is unearthed. Flurina Gradin will present different aspects of biodiversity in the built environment, focusing on a paradigm shift within the discipline of architecture. Federico Luisetti will share what he learned from “earth-beings” that challenge Western notions of personhood and life.
