Leadership Camp - Unlock your Leadership potential

Managing a Cyber Crisis

11th -12th of October 2024

Undefeated for 200 years - the Swiss Armed Forces invite you again! From 11 to 12 October 2024, the Officers' Association of the University of St. Gallen is organising an interactive leadership event in cooperation with the Command and Communications Training of the Swiss Armed Forces (KFK) and HSG Square. Including: Thomas Süssli, Chief of the Armed Forces, Dieter Streuli CEO AAS and Heike Bruch, Prof. Of Leadership@HSG as panel speaker. Don't miss the chance to learn from the militia officers and find out how to master a cyber crisis.

Over the course of one and a half days, students and representatives from the private sector will learn the basics of military leadership in the Swiss Armed Forces in workshops and plenary discussions. Participants will be trained by qualified officers in small groups and apply what they have learnt in practice using a current case study. The focus is on reverse coaching, in which young officers train the participants in order to create an interactive learning atmosphere.

Information about the Leadership Event

This year's event, which takes place from 11th to 12th of October 2024, is dedicated to the topic of cyber security and has the motto "How to manage a Cyber Crisis?" In addition to German, the workshops will also be offered in English and, if required, in French. New this year is the option of attending just one day if desired. After successfully completing both days, participants will receive an online certificate. On 12 October 2024, the Chief of the Armed Forces, Thomas Süssli, will once again take part in a plenary discussion. Catering will also be provided for the participants.

Aim of the event

We want to give students and external parties an insight into military leadership training by means of reverse coaching to show the depth of military training for officers during their military career and the benefits for the private sector.

We want to show participants the extent to which they can benefit from military leadership training in a civilian environment and apply what they have learnt to structure and solve problems.

We want to bring external parties and students together to promote the exchange of knowledge and networking through workshops and panel discussions.

Officers' Association of the University of St. Gallen

The Officers Associations of the University of St.Gallen is a student initiative that was founded in 1999 as the first network of students with military leadership responsibilities for the exchange of military and private knowledge, camaraderie and the discussion of security policy issues.

With our events during the semester, we want to promote club life and strengthen our network in a non-military setting. We place particular emphasis on communicating the benefits of military leadership training for civilian life. Through the HSG Alumni Officers' Association, our network extends across all sectors, companies and organisations.
