In November 2022 the Contextual Studies program welcomes fifteen members of the Speculative Energy Futures (SEF) team to the University of St. Gallen as SQUARE’s inaugural artists-in-residence. Co-led by Visiting Professor Dr. Sheena Wilson and Visiting Lecturer Dr. Natalie Loveless, SEF will present a two-week intensive MA course, Energy Transition: Pathways to Climate Justice, and corresponding pop-up exhibition, Unpacking Energy Transition (SEF’s FluxKit Beta Tests) throughout SQUARE’s light-filled atrium. Through this collaborative initiative, Contextual Studies, SQUARE, and the SEF team invite University of St. Gallen students and the larger academic community to collaboratively re-imagine how we think through ecological, climate, and energy justice.
